This year, January felt like March. The market shot out of the gate and hasn’t stopped since. I prefer not to add to the frenzy, but in the spirit of providing information, here’s what we’re seeing so far in 2021. Four and five day periods of showings where every single showing appointment is booked AND realtors and their clients are waiting outside in hopes there will be five minutes left at the end of someone else’s appointment when they can run through. Fifty, eighty, in one case one hundred three, offers on a house. Offers that are all cash, way over asking price, waiving inspections and closing in a minute and a half. It’s clearly not an easy time to be a buyer. But there are strategies and approaches that can increase your chances of success, not least of all patience!
